Course Syllabus
Overview:
This course includes units on cardio sport activities, the fitness room, the weight room, and the 20 minute run.
Appropriate Dress for P.E.
- PE clothes follow the school dress code
- Tops must have sleeves (No "tank tops" or cut off sleeves)
- Shorts (must be mid-thigh length)
- Athletic Pants
Lockers:
- Large Lockers are available for students that participate in JV or Varsity Sports. On a first come/ first serve basics. Must be registered with Mrs. Reinhart
- Students must provide a lock (key or combination) The combination or a spare key must given to Mrs. Reinhart.
- If a lock is found on a locker (not registered with the teacher), it will be cut and items inside will be discarded.
- The school is not responsible for items stolen. So keep you stuff locked up!
Grading
75% and above is a passing grade in PE. Less than 75% is considered failing. A student that is dressed and participates the their potential receives 10 points each class.
Points will be deducted for the following reasons:
- Lack of Participation or Effort
- Inappropriate dress (does not meet dress code)
- **Poor Sportsmanship
- **Rough Play
** May result in other disciplinary actions
No Clothes (NC) = No points are awarded
A failing grade is given after 2 "No Clothes"
20 Minute Run (worth 10 points)
- Occurs the beginning and halfway through each quarter.
- Is mandatory and needed to be made-up if missed
- Final Exam is also a 20 minute run (= 25 points)
Parent Excuses (must be given the day of class)
Two allowed per quarter
Medical (Doctor) Excuses
Must be specific as to what dates the student can/cannot participate. If it reads "Until Further Notice" an additional excuse must be submitted to allow participation.
PE make-up classes
Are allowed after school or during a study hall.
